Terms of Service

1. Platform Overview

DappPin (“we”, “us”, “the Platform”) is a peer-to-peer micro-task marketplace operated by DappPin.com, registered in Germany. We connect “Spenders” (task creators) with “Earners” (task providers) for neighbourhood help services. DappPin acts solely as an intermediary marketplace and is not a party to any agreement between Spenders and Earners.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the Platform.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally reside in Germany to use DappPin. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. We reserve the right to request proof of age and residency at any time and to suspend accounts that fail to comply.

4. Account Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorised use. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to protect your credentials. Accounts are non-transferable.

5. Dual-Role System

Every user has a single account and may switch between Spender and Earner modes. As a Spender, you create tasks and fund escrow. As an Earner, you accept and complete tasks. You may not accept your own tasks.

6. Allowed Task Categories

Tasks are strictly limited to the following categories: Pick-up / Drop-off, Shopping, Moving Help, Pet Care, Queuing / Waiting, Gardening / Watering, Furniture Assembly, Basic House Cleaning, Window Cleaning, Recycling & Waste Disposal, Snow Clearing, Tech & Device Setup, House Sitting, Event & Party Help, Hanging Pictures & Shelves, Tutoring, and Senior Companionship.

Regulated trades (electrical work, plumbing, gas fitting, roofing, structural engineering, medical or legal advice, financial services, childcare, and any activity requiring a professional licence) are strictly prohibited. Posting prohibited tasks will result in immediate content removal and potential account suspension.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not:

  • Post or perform tasks involving illegal, dangerous, or regulated activities
  • Attempt to circumvent the escrow system or platform fees
  • Exchange personal contact information (phone, email, social media) to transact off-platform
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against other users
  • Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent content or proof-of-work
  • Create multiple accounts or use automated tools to interact with the Platform
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the Platform in any manner
  • Use the Platform for money laundering, terrorism financing, or any sanctioned activity

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban, at our sole discretion, without prior notice and without refund of any deposited funds (subject to applicable law).

8. Payments, Escrow & Fees

Task bounties are held in escrow until all verification steps are completed and the Spender approves (or auto-approval triggers). A 10 % platform fee is deducted from each payout. Earners receive net payouts to their linked PayPal account. All prices are in Euros (€). We are not responsible for PayPal fees, currency conversion costs, or bank charges. All sales are final once payment is released from escrow, except in dispute resolutions.

9. Disputes & Resolution

If a Spender rejects proof-of-work, a dispute is opened automatically. Both parties have 24 hours to resolve the matter via in-app chat. If unresolved, the dispute is escalated to a DappPin administrator who reviews all evidence and makes a final, binding decision. Admin decisions include releasing funds to the Earner or refunding the Spender. By using the Platform, you agree that admin dispute decisions are binding and waive any further claim against DappPin regarding the disputed amount.

10. Identity Verification (KYC)

To earn on DappPin, you must complete identity verification (Know Your Customer) by providing a valid government-issued ID. This is required to comply with German regulations and the EU DAC7 directive. We reserve the right to reject or revoke verification at any time if documents are found to be invalid, forged, or expired.

11. DAC7 / PStTG Compliance & Earner Limits

In accordance with the EU DAC7 directive and the German Platform Tax Transparency Act (Plattformen-Steuertransparenzgesetz, PStTG), DappPin is required to collect and report seller data to the German Federal Central Tax Office (Bundeszentralamt für Steuern, BZSt).

Earners are limited to 29 completed tasks or €1,999.99 in gross earnings per calendar year (whichever threshold is reached first). Upon reaching either threshold:

  • Your Earner mode will be automatically frozen until January 1st of the following calendar year, or
  • You may choose to provide your Tax Identification Number (Steueridentifikationsnummer), in which case DappPin will report your earnings and personal data to the Finanzamt (German tax authority) as required by law, and your Earner mode will be reactivated.

By using the Platform as an Earner, you acknowledge and consent to this reporting obligation. Failure to provide accurate tax information when requested may result in permanent account suspension. You are solely responsible for declaring all income earned through DappPin to the relevant tax authorities and paying any applicable taxes.

12. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, logos, software, and design elements of DappPin are the exclusive property of DappPin.com. User-generated content (task descriptions, photos, messages) is licensed to DappPin for platform operation purposes. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, display, and distribute it within the Platform.

13. Limitation of Liability

DappPin is an intermediary marketplace. We do not employ Earners, nor do we supervise the performance of tasks. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • DappPin is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Platform
  • DappPin is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or timeliness of any task performed through the Platform
  • DappPin is not liable for any injury, property damage, or loss incurred during task performance
  • DappPin bears no responsibility for tax obligations of its users
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the fees we collected from you in the 12 months preceding the claim

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DappPin.com, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

16. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Upon termination, any pending escrow funds will be handled according to our dispute resolution process. Funds owed to you will be released within 30 days of account closure, minus any outstanding fees or disputed amounts.

17. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the city where DappPin GmbH is registered, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. All remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
